Hey Cummingses (is that the official plural form?),

I’m thinking an official Reunion is off for this year.

I didn’t get a whole lot of feedback from the feelers I put out, only some griping about dates and how much gas costs (sigh). So I’m thinking we’ll make it a 5yr thing and just have Reunion 2004 and now Reunion 2009! That way everyone can start budgeting for travel and time now.

If anyone wants to help come up with dates and location ideas or perhaps volunteer for some activities that would be so helpful! I would really appreciate it, and I think we definitely need to plan to see the clan again. It’s overdue!

It’s been a bit crazy for me over the past four years (Mom & sis moving away, Dad dying, my business growing like a mad, failed pregnancies, etc.) so I’ve been just a little overwhelmed with life and kinda like a duck in water- trying to look cool up top, and paddling like crazy below. As I’m sure many of us are.

Please shoot me an email or drop me a line. I’d love to chat with you and see if we can finally get a date/location set up and sent out to everyone.

My apologies on the delay getting together plans for the next reunion, we have had some unexpected trials in our business over the past few months. Thank you for your understanding.. and mom for your prayers.  

The upside is, it looks like we will be able to have a lovely little weekend get together if we can get enough folks interested in it. We understand that travel may be difficult for many so if it is too hard to make it here this year, no worries.  There are a few small privately owned resorts with lovely beach access and comfortable amenities we are looking at right now. But we’ll need to have an idea of how many people need to be accommodated before we setting on anything.

Can you all believe it’s been 4 years since the last family reunion?! Well, this summer we are hoping to put together Cummings Reunion 2008, in beautiful historic St. Augustine, Florida.We are looking at the months of June and July right now as possibilites and would love to hear from you! So please leave a comment with the dates within June and July you would prefer.So far we are tossing around the idea of renting a big beach house where several folks can stay or stay nearby and just hang out all day. That way you get to enjoy white sand beaches in additon to friends and family.Additionally, Saint Augustine had loads of things to do and see for the adults and kiddies so it would make a great mini-vacation. We, of course, will be offering up some of the old favorites from the last reunion as well as some new ones:

• The Cummings 5k walk-run
• Charades, Poker & Pictionary
• The Saturday Night Party/BBQ-Luau
• A video Oral-history corner (be sure to take 15-30 minutes to tell a bit about yourself and a family story or two)
• Family Portraits (we’ll be offering family & couples portraits with images on disk for FREE!)
